Kailash Mansarovar Yatra with Ashtapad Visit

Overview

Embark on a spiritually enriching Kailash Mansarovar Yatra with an Ashtapad visit. Kailash Mansarovar is a famous pilgrimage destination for Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, and Bons. It is filled with experiences of self-introspection and spiritual growth. One of such experiences is visiting Ashtapad, which is one of the top attractions of Kailash Mansarovar and a significant religious site for Jains. Ashtapad is a sacred peak near Mount Kailash, where the first Tirthankara, Rishabhdev, attained Nirvana (Salvation). Ashtapad means ‘eight steps’, which refers to the meaning that either the ascending to the mountain can be done in eight large steps or there is an array of eight mountain ranges. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra with Ashtapad involves a separate trek from Darchen but is a deeply spiritual experience, especially for the followers of the Jain religion.
