Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Ex Kathmandu by Road

Overview

Mount Kailash stands at 6,638 meters (21,778 feet) in the Kailash Range, part of the Gangdise Mountains in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It sits near Lake Manasarovar and Lake Rakshastal, close to the sources of some of Asia's longest rivers, including the Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali (also called Ghaghara in India, a tributary of the Ganges). Mount Kailash holds great spiritual significance across four major religions: Bon, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Buddhists, Jains, and Hindus do this sacred pilgrimage tour to Kailash Mansarovar.
