Kinner Kailash, located in Himachal Pradesh's Kinaur district, stands tall at 4800 meters and holds deep religious significance for both Hindu and Buddhist Kinnauris. Often confused with Mount Kailash in Tibet, this sacred mountain is home to a 79-ft tall Shivling that changes colors every second. Nearby is Parvati Kund, believed to be created by Goddess Parvati, where she and Lord Shiva are said to have met. Kinner Kailash is considered the abode of the gods in Hindu mythology, making it a challenging yet revered trekking destination with stunning, remote landscapes. It's a spiritual journey like no other!
After arriving at Chandigarh Airport or Railway Station, you'll be picked up by Pilgrim Packages India’s tour representative. After a warm welcome, start the drive towards Shimla. You'll be in Shimla by the evening. Check into the hotel and enjoy a nice dinner. Rest for the night at the hotel.
Check out from the hotel after having an early breakfast. Our representative will drive you to Sarhan today. On the way, stop by Narkanda to check out the Hatu Peak and visit the Sun Temple in Nirath – it's the only one of its kind in North India. By evening, you’ll reach Sarhan. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Sarhan.
Wake up early in the morning and have a beautiful sight from your room’s window. Have your breakfast and check out of the hotel. Our representative will drive you to your next destination. En route visit Bhimakali Temple – a major Shakti Peeth. If the skies are clear, you’ll also get a great view of Shrikhand Kailash from the Shrikhand viewpoint. On your drive to Kalpa/Recong Peo, stop by Jeori for a visit to the Unnu Mahadev Temple and a relaxing hot water spring. You’ll also pass through Tangling, which is the trek starting point for Kinner Kailash Darshan. You will reach Kalpa or Reckong Peo by evening. Stay here overnight.
After an early breakfast, our representative will drop you at the trek starting point for Kinner Kailash. You will start the first day of your trek. The trek is around 8-12 km and offers a mix of steep and gradual ascents. You’ll stay at Ganesh Park (3450 meters) or Ganesh Gufa (3750 meters) overnight. Rest up because the next day’s trek will be intense!
Start early in the morning after breakfast to tackle the long and tough trek to the main summit of Kinner Kailash. It’s a steep climb, with boulders and difficult terrain, but the reward is worth it! After about 5-6 hours, you'll reach the holy Shivling. You'll be trekking at altitudes up to 4810 meters (15870 ft.), so the air will be thin, but the view and sense of achievement are unbeatable. After soaking in the views, you’ll head back to Ganesh Park/Gufa for the night.
After breakfast, start your trek back to Tangling. From there, a 25 km drive will take you to Kalpa. Once you’re back, you can relax, have a meal, and enjoy your overnight stay in Kalpa.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and head to Shimla. On the way, stop by the Nag Nagin Temple. Continue your drive to Shimla. After a long drive, you’ll reach Shimla. Check into the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Pilgrim Packages India representative will drive you to Chandigarh and drop you off at the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
The Kinner Kailash Tour is a sacred pilgrimage to Kinner Kailash, one of the five Kailash peaks revered by Hindus. Located in Himachal Pradesh, this trek is known for its spiritual significance and breathtaking landscapes. The peak is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva, and devotees trek to seek his blessings.
Kinner Kailash is in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, near Reckong Peo, at an altitude of 4,650 meters (15,256 feet).
Since Kinner Kailash is near the Indo-Tibetan border, Indian nationals need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) from the DC Office in Reckong Peo. Foreign nationals might have additional restrictions.
