Tanot Mata Mandir is a famous Hindu Temple located near India-Pakistan border and Longewala. Longewala is the place where Longewala battle took place during India-Pakistan War of 1971. According to folklore, it is believed that India won the battle due to the blessings and miracles of Tanot Mata, Goddess Aavad—a highly-revered deity in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. According to the oldest Charan literature, Tanot Mata is also considered an incarnation of divine Goddess Hinglaj Mata, and thus is a Goddess of War.
