Itinerary
Nestled in the rolling Doon Valleys at the foothills of the Himalayas, Dehradun is one of the most beautiful cities in India. Upon arrival in Dehradun, the Pilgrim Packages India tour representative will welcome you and drive you to Barkot, the gateway to Yamunotri and Gangotri. You will pass through the scenic hill station of Mussoorie and the Himalayan valleys to reach Barkot, at a distance of 142 km from Dehradun. Upon arrival, check into the hotel, have dinner, and rest overnight.
Wake up early and get ready to visit the first destination of your Char Dham Yatra, Yamunotri. Located at an elevation of 3293 metres, Yamunotri is the origin of the Yamuna River. For the darshan, our tour representative will drive you to Janki Chatti. From there, you will start trekking to the Yamunotri Temple. After a 6 km trek, you will reach the temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The deity’s idol is carved in black stone. There is also a water reservoir, called Surya Kund, where devotees take a holy dip. So, you should also take a dip and have the darshan of Mata Yamuna. Trek back to Janki Chatti. Our tour representative will pick you up from there and drive you to Barkot for an overnight stay.
Drive to Uttarkashi after having your breakfast at the hotel. Uttarkashi is the gateway to Gangotri. You will stay overnight here. Upon arrival, check in and freshen up to explore Shiv Gufa and the famous Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Stroll along the riverbanks and return to your hotel, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Early morning leave for Gangotri Temple. You will drive through the scenic Harsil Valley to reach Gangotri Temple. Take a dip in the holy Bhagirathi River and offer prayers. Have a darshan of Maa Ganga at the temple and spend some time soaking in the Himalayan serenity. After this, return to Uttarkashi for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will drive to Guptkashi. Passing through scenic valleys and watching the river confluences, you will reach Guptkashi. Check into the hotel and relax. Overnight stay and dinner will be at the hotel.
Early morning drive to Sonprayag, where you will take a local taxi to reach Gaurikund. Then begin your 17 km trek to Kedarnath and reach the temple by evening. Attend the evening Aarti and have darshan of lord Shiva’s Shivling. Overnight stay in a hotel near the temple.
Visit the temple to have darshan in the Kedarnath Temple and explore the area. After this, trek back to Gaurikund, from where you will get the local taxi to Sonprayag. Upon arrival, our tour representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for an overnight stay.
After having your breakfast, check out of the hotel. Our tour representative will drive you to Joshimath via Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag. Upon arrival, check into the hotel, have dinner, and stay overnight in Joshimath.
Have your breakfast and get ready to visit the final destination of your Char Dham Yatra, Shri Badrinath Dham. Located about 45 km from Joshimath at an elevation of 3415 metres, the Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Our tour representative will drive to Badrinath, which takes around 4-5 hours, as you travel through the rugged mountain terrains. After Darshan, visit Mana Village, the only place where you can see the holy Saraswati River. Also visit Vyas Gufa and Ganesh Gufa. Drive back to Joshimath for an overnight stay in the hotel.
Have a relaxed breakfast at the hotel. Today, the Pilgrim Packages India tour representative will drive back to Dehradun from Joshimath. Covering around 290 km, which takes around 10 hours, you will reach Dehradun. En route, you will stop at Devprayag to see the confluence of the two sacred rivers that merge to become the Ganga River.
