After a warm welcome, our representative will take you to Pelling, which is about 124 km away and takes around 6 hours to get to. Pelling is nestled in the land of Mt. Kanchenjunga and is a peaceful gem in the eastern Himalayas. Once you get there, check in to your hotel and relax for the night.
After breakfast, get ready for a full day of sightseeing. First up is the Pemayangtse Monastery, which was built in the 17th century and is one of the oldest and most significant monasteries in the Nyingmapa order of Buddhism in Sikkim. Then, head to Khecheopalri Lake– it’s not just beautiful but also considered sacred. Next, make your way to the Shingshore Suspension Bridge, which is pretty cool. It’s the second-highest bridge in Asia, and the views are amazing from the 680-foot-high gorge. End your day by visiting the Kanchendzonga Waterfalls and the Rock Garden. Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head to Gangtok. En route you will visit Namchi, where you will see the gigantic Guru Padmasambhava statue, sitting proudly atop Samdruptse Hill. This 135-foot statue is hard to miss, and it’s an impressive sight. After that, it’s time to head to the Chardham Pilgrim Centre. This unique place has a massive 108-foot temple with a towering 87-foot statue of Lord Shiva, sitting in a peaceful posture. The center also has replicas of the 12 Jyotirlingas and four Dhams, including Badrinath and Dwarka. After soaking in all the spiritual vibes, drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. It’s known for being super peaceful and beautiful. Once you reach Gangtok, check in to your hotel for the night.
After breakfast, get ready for an exciting excursion to Tsomgo Lake, sitting at a stunning 12,400 feet above sea level. The lake is absolutely gorgeous, with its oval shape and peaceful atmosphere. Afterward, continue the adventure with a visit to Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial, or Baba Mandir, at an altitude of 13,000 feet. It’s a short 30-minute drive from Tsomgo Lake. Once you’re back in Gangtok, spend your evening exploring M.G. Marg, a popular shopping street. You’ll find plenty of shops and cafes to unwind in. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Today you will explore the best attractions of Gangtok. Start with a half-day city sightseeing tour, visiting Gonjang Monastery, Ganesh Tok (a small temple with a great view of the city), and Tashi View Point– one of the best spots for photos of the Sikkim Himalayas. You’ll also get to see some lovely waterfalls, like Baktham and Lasa. If you’re into local handicrafts, don’t miss the Handicraft and Flower Show. After a busy morning, you’ll have some free time in the evening to do whatever you like, before heading back to the hotel for the night.
