Upon arrival in Guwahati, you will be greeted at the airport or railway station by a representative of Pilgrim Packages India, who will drive you to Dhubri. The journey will take around 4 hours. After reaching the destination, check into the hotel. Get ready and head out to visit Maa Mahamaya Dham, a well-known temple. Locals like the Kacharies, Koches, and Nath people have been worshipping the Mother Goddess Mahamaya here for a long time. It was originally the goddess of the Parvatjowar region, and now Hindus from all over come to pay their respects. After that, head back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy your breakfast and check out from the hotel. Our representative will drive you to Barpeta—one of Assam’s oldest historical places (about 150 km, 3 hours). First, you will visit Barpeta Satra, a big pilgrimage spot that gets lots of visitors, especially during the Holi Doul Festival. The Kirtan Ghar here is the largest in Assam. This place honors three important Vaishnava Gurus: Shrimanta Sankardeva, Shri Madhavdeva, and Shri Badula Ata. Next, head to Patbaushi Satra, just 2 km outside of Barpeta town. After exploring the Satra, the representative will drop you at the hotel. Check into the hotel and you will have the evening free for some personal time.
Enjoy your breakfast, pack your bags, and check out from the hotel. Our representative will drive you to Rangia (about 84 km, 2 hours), where you can visit the ancient Madan Kamdev Temple. This place dates back to the 9th and 10th centuries and was part of the mighty Pala Dynasty of Kamarupa. You will find carvings of various gods like Sun, Ganesha and Vidhyadhar, plus a Gopeshwar Temple in the nearby village of Deuduar, and Parvati Guha, a cave that travelers like to visit too. After this, you will be driving back to Guwahati, check into the hotel, and relax for the night.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast in the hotel, you will head to Hajo (about 60 km, 2 hours), a really interesting place where Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims all come together for pilgrimages. First, you will visit Hayagriva Madhava Mandir, the main temple here, and then check out some lesser-known spots like the Ganesha Temple, which was built by an Ahom king in 1744 AD and the Kedareswara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Powa Mecca is a Muslim religious site sitting on top of Garurachal Hill. It’s a peaceful spot with great views. Head back to the hotel in Guwahati for an overnight stay.
Have a delicious breakfast in the hotel and get ready to spend the day sightseeing in Guwahati. Visit the famous Maa Kamakhya Temple - a huge pilgrimage site and a Shakti Peeth. After that, visit the Balaji Temple and Basistha Ashram, both of which are must-see spots. Later in the evening, you will have some free time to explore the local markets and other attractions in the city.
